Pass Me the Microphone: Phoebe Boswell

Stories and sounds from the Swahili coast… sampling Binyavanga Wainaina’s How to Write about Africa.

Over to curators Amanprit Sandhu and Hansi Momodu-Gordon to give voice to this series: “We pass the mic to artists and musicians foregrounding Creole identities, collective consciousness and nonlinear story telling. Acknowledging Sound Systems as ritual space and alternative public sphere the transmissions will articulate contemporary pulsations of the diasporic experience, and explore the political, communal and transcendent spaces created by sound, music and technology.”
