IT BEGINS WITH A BLESSING AND ENDS WITH A CURSE: BRIT PROG JAZZ ROCK 1968-1978

We are delighted to present an exclusive mix of prog-jazz tunes selected by our cde artist, theorist and writer Kodwo Eshun – co-founder of the Otolith Group and author of the seminal “More Brilliant Than The Sun” and more.

Spanning over four hours, the mix includes lesser-known collaborations by the Blue Notes, produced in the UK, that culminated in the mighty “Septober Energy” gathering via Centipede. The title of the mix is from The Soft Machine’s “Why are we sleeping?”. And the image is a napkin sketch of these trajectories by Kodwo.

Live on PASS, Friday 6 February 2026, from 7pm
