Product Details
Published to accompany Kemang Wa Lehulere's Deutsche Bank Artist of the Year 2017 exhibition, Bird Song, this monograph features an interview with the artist by curator Britta Färber about the show, as well as texts on his wider practice by Carlos Gamerro and Victoria Noorthoorn, Kate Nesin and Elvira Dyangani Ose. The book also incorporates a booklet, or 'Pumflet', made by Wa Lehulere and architect Ilze Wolff, presenting their exchanges around the poetry of Gladys Thomas and the paintings of Gladys Mgudlandlu - research which informs one of the exhibition's key works, the video Homeless Song 5.
