Brandfort: Liberation Capital [1977-86] – FREE STATE LAUNCH

We are honoured to present a celebration to launch Brandfort: Liberation Capital [1977-86] at the site of its inception, Mam’Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s banishment home, 802 Mothupi Street, Majwemasweu, Brandfort on Friday 31 October, 2025

Join the community of Majwemasweu to celebrate the life of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, her time spent in their part of the Free State, and the publication which holds a collection of their shared stories Brandfort: Liberation Capital [1977-86]. The event will commence at Mam’Winnie’s old home, which is now the Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Museum, and will include live poetry readings, performances, featured talks from local contributors to the publication and more.
